Sarah Hopkins

An established Welsh artist and printmaker, my work focuses on urban and manmade landscapes and the industrial heritage of South Wales. Through the exploration of printmaking techniques and by creating intricate, hand-cut paper stencils, I print layers of vibrant colour to build my images. I am constantly exploring new ways of representing my ideas and aim to transform negatively perceived industrial wastelands and places of social decay.

I have worked with a number of clients to create bespoke artwork for interior spaces, including a commission for John Lewis Stores, Cardiff in 2009, creating an exclusive set of monotype screenprints for their Espresso Bar. I also deliver printmaking workshops and masterclasses to groups on request, most recently, Copenhagen International School and Copenhagen University.
