My work explores the relationship between urban developments, the natural environment, climate change and rising sea levels. My focus is on the peripheral, the edgelands, those areas where the urban and suburban overlap the natural environment, both rural and coastal, and an often derelict industrial landscape. This area of focus allows me to question materiality and the stability it appears to confer in the face of life’s transient nature.

Increasingly, sense and spirit of place, the traces left by the passage of time, absence and dislocation have become inherent themes within the work.
